????The Qingdao Municipal Government and Wanda Group recently held a film summit in Los Angeles, America. In the summit, the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis has attracted investment on a global scale for the first time and signed an agreement on shooting 11 blockbusters with 9 famous Hollywood film enterprises. It means that in the coming three years, these 11 Hollywood movies will be actually “made in Qingdao”，which will lead a new fashion of Chinese film industry and change the pattern of international film market.

????This summit has attracted the attendance of presidents and CEOs of many large Hollywood film companies including Warner Brothers, Sony, the 21st Century Fox, Legend, and Liongate, senior executives of famous Hollywood brokerage firms and film associations, many renowned directors, producers, and actors. 9 Hollywood film enterprises including Legend Films, Liongate Film, Shadow Films Arad Film and Arclight Films have signed an agreement on shooting 11 blockbusters at the site with Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis.

????On October 9th, 15 shooting studios and 11 set workshops in zone A of the production area of the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis was completed and delivered for use. It marks that the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis Industrial Park has formally opened. Till now, the Lingshan Bay Film and Television Industrial Zone has cumulatively attracted 55 domestic and foreign film and television companies to settle down. Following the shooting crew of The Great Wall directed by Zhang Yimou, the shooting group of Pacific Rim 2 will reside in the park soon. According to the professional analysis, under the overall industrial chains environment of the Lingshan Bay Film and Television Cultural Industrial Zone, the guiding role of Qingdao film and television fund policy is being gradually unleashed. It is expected that over 30 international blockbusters and nearly 100 domestic film works will be set in the zone every year.

????It is said that with the total investment of 50 billion Yuan, the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis is the largest scaled film and television industrial park with the most content and highest level in the world. The project covers an area of 165.76 hectares and it is planned to construct 30 shooting studios at the first phase including the largest shooting studio with an area of 10,000 square meters and the only underwater fixed shooting studio in the world. The Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis has 30 shooting studios and they are divided into 6 groups. Each group has large, medium and small-scaled shooting studios, clothing, and prop and equipment factories and is independent from each other.

????In the summit, the Qingdao Municipal Government donated the first sum of film production subsidy to the producer of The Great Wall from American Legend Film since the special development fund for Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis is established. It is said that the film The Great Wall was under shooting in the first half of 2015 in Qingdao Lingshan Bay Film and Television Cultural Industrial Zone and this film has become the most foreign-funded film ever in history. The related principal of the special fund council for the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis film and television industrial development: “The council has selected and examined the related information submitted by the shooting crew of The Great Wall and handed over the subsidy for movie production cost. It marks that Qingdao film and television industrial development fund has entered the substantial operating stage.”

????It is learned that the Management and Use Method of Qingdao Film and Television Industrial Development Fund had made clear stipulations on the fund scope and composition as follows: the Qingdao film and television industrial development fund scope is 1 billion Yuan annually and the establishing time period is 5 years. According to the Qingdao Oriental Movie Metropolis Industrial Development Special Fund Outstanding Film and TV Works Production Cost Subsidy Rules and Regulations, the production cost subsidy mainly covers the outstanding film and TV works shot and produced in Qingdao Lingshan Bay Film and TV Industrial Zone (including auxiliary services), including films and TV series. The highest subsidy rate is 40%.
