????By 2020, over a half of Qingdao people will often go for exercise

????The Qingdao Citywide Fitness Implementation Program from 2016 to 2010 was issued last week. By 2020, the per capita sports ground area will be over 2.8 square meters and over a half of Qingdao citizens often go for physical exercise.

????By 2020, Qingdao will establish a pattern of citywide fitness program characterized by “one brand in one district or city, one feature for one street”, a public stadium, a public fitness activity center and a sports park or exercise square will be constructed in all districts or cities. Every town or street will have a public fitness activity center or basketball court with lights and a multi-functional playground. For villages or communities, a multi-functional culture and sports square will be constructed. And the per capita sports ground area will reach over 2.8 square meters. Qingdao will build up “China Qingdao Gold Coast Sports Tourism And Leisure Belt”, a national level elite public fitness project and establish the overall pattern of leisure sports ground marked by “four circles and one belt”. In addition, Qingdao will hasten the construction of citizen fitness center, aquatic sports center, shooting center, national teenager football training center and tennis center etc. By 2020, 10,000 sports and fitness facilities will be built up and a multi-level and distinctive citywide fitness facility network will be constructed.

????The WIPO sent a letter of thanks to Qingdao

????On November 15th and 16th, the activity celebrating the 125th anniversary of the founding of trademark brand and Madrid international trademark system, jointly hosted by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and State Administration of Industry and Commerce, were successfully held in Qingdao. Madam Wang Bingying, the vice secretary-general of the WIPO has recently sent a letter of thanks to Zhang Xinqi, the mayor of Qingdao. In the letter, she showed gratitude to Qingdao for its enormous support to this activity and great contributions Qingdao has made in promoting the Madrid system and congratulated that Qingdao has become the Chinese city with the largest number of Madrid system application.

????In the thank you letter given to Zhang Xinqi, Wang Bingying said that without wide participation and promotion of Qingdao, this major event couldn’t go smoothly and showed warm congratulations and sincere tribute to the Qingdao Municipal Government for its enormous contributions in broadcasting the advantages of Madrid system. She also hoped that in the future several years both these two parties would have fruitful achievements.

????The Qingdao Municipality and the WIPO are now jointly conducting a research project named the Madrid Trademark International Registration Protection and Promoting Local Economic Development. After the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization finalizes this investigation report, it will be issued in many foreign languages in the member countries of the WIPO to promote the experience of Qingdao in the Madrid trademark international registration.

????The Minutes on Reinforcing Madrid Trademark International Registration Protection and Promoting Local Economic Development, signed by the Qingdao Municipal Government and the World Intellectual Property Organization, stipulated a three-year plan for Qingdao in Madrid trademark international registration and Qingdao is maintaining a strong momentum of rapid growth in applying for trademark.
